Stratabilty - on a missionFor the past year, I have been busy finishing off my consulting gig working on HSBC’s Global Corporate Client Strategy as well as working to launch my new tech and learning startup Stratability.co.

Yes, its a little crazy with a small team of effectively 2 people full-time (even though we are team of 5 plus our Chief Happiness Officer – my dog Kimi), but we are doing our best with what we have. I’ve tried to do everything from creating new products and services, marketing, sales, operations, blogging… everything…too much…but not enough. You can view the list at the end of this blog.

Lots of long hours (with most of us having day jobs), lots of stress, and myself and the founding team have spent our own personal savings too – so we definitely have our ‘skin in the game’.

You might wonder why we do it at all, but as with any thing great you want to achieve in life, you need to give it your all, and enjoy and learn from the journey, while you reach towards the destination. That is what we are doing at Stratability and in writing my book,
THE STRATEGY JOURNEY®.

Myself and the Stratability Team are on a Mission to innovate and transform with our business and we are travelling through our ‘strategy journey’.

So sorry it been awhile since my last blog. My blog on juliechoo.com is now moving here and our Stratability blog is also in the process of being moved here to THE STRATEGY JOURNEY® blog. I’ll be honest there was no point maintaining 3 blogs all discussing the same topics so I took the decision to move everything here.

What is THE STRATEGY JOURNEY®?

THE STRATEGY JOURNEY® is comprised of 5 steps that every business goes through as they move from being an idea developed from a Mission into a real tangible business, that is then not only operating effectively in the marketplace and delivering value but also transforming in a fast changing ecosystem.

Equally, these same 5 steps apply to an individual and their career or purpose in life as they move from a deep sense of a mission driven by their passion(s), into a set of goals that they want to achieve and then into performing or execution and transformation.

Strategy-Journey-steps

A quick summary of the 5 steps or models of THE STRATEGY JOURNEY® –

Mission Model:

Why you or your business exists? What is your purpose? What are your values? What is your Vision?

Business Model:

What are you offering to help people? Who will you help? How will you help? And can you make a profit or provide a return on your investment?

Value Model:

How will you create value to those you intend to help? What kind of relationships will you build? What activities will you perform to create value? What will you customers get? What will you get for your efforts to keep you going?

Operating Model:

How, where and when will you operate, perform your activities and deliver? Who will perform those activities? Will you work with a team or partners? What tools and systems should you use to aid you in your journey?

Transformation Model:

How will you change and adapt as the ecosystem around you changes? What’s your plan for the future? How will you get there?

I think its pretty clear from the above, that there is simply no way to avoid THE STRATEGY JOURNEY, because it represents your personal life journey or the lifecycle of your business or organisation.

Whatever your journey is –

Learning how to master
THE
STRATEGY JOURNEY
could be the difference between Success or Failure.

As Stratability traverses its own strategy journey, I aim to blog more updates so everyone can witness the journey of a real start-up covering successes, as well as failures or rather lessons learnt and how we decided to Pivot.  With the development of more products like the Passiometer (in pre-beta right now), I hope to also provide more clarify on the ‘Personal Strategy Journey’ as well as tips and techniques on how to manage and master it.

As promised, some key things things the team have been working on at Stratability.co include (updated on 21th April 2018):

  • Training courses, including online using videos and webinars, and workshops which are available publicly and in-house to private clients
  • Forming our Academy as a global education provider for professionals, entrepreneurs and adults

This blog is a first sneak peek of some of the content in my book THE STRATEGY JOURNEY® scheduled to launch on Amazon in November 2018! The book was successfully funded on Kickstarter in December 2017 with 100s of copies pre-purchased.

In upcoming blogs, myself and other community members will be providing much more detail on THE STRATEGY JOURNEY and including their own business and personal experiences, so tune in to stay up to date.
